Building an Accessible Restroom for Sister Liberata
Providing safety, dignity, and independence for Sister Liberata, who has devoted her life to guiding others along the Joyous Path in Kenya.
About Sister Liberata
Sister Liberata (approx. 50 years old) lives with a severe physical disability and relies on a wheelchair for her daily mobility. Despite enduring difficult bodily hardship, she has warmly welcomed and guided countless individuals to the church and the teachings of Tenrikyo over many years.
The young people she brought to faith have grown into dedicated Yoboku (spiritual instruments) and are now working admirably as central pillar staff of the mission. Even today, she continues her faithful devotion, actively serving the community in her home region of Nembure.
Why This Project is Urgently Needed
In Kenya, accessible sanitation facilities for people with disabilities are virtually non-existent, making daily life an enormous hardship. Whenever Sister Liberata visits the mission centre in Embu, she refrains from eating or drinking out of worry of "inconveniencing others" and endures holding back from using the restroom—a heartbreaking reality that deeply pains our hearts.
At the very least when she is at home, we want her to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity without having to worry or trouble anyone. Therefore, in heartfelt gratitude for her many years of selfless dedication, we are seeking to construct a wheelchair-accessible restroom at her residence.
We would be profoundly grateful for your warm prayers, compassion, and financial contributions so that Sister Liberata can continue to live with peace of mind. Thank you very much for your heartfelt support and generosity.
